i know the end
A downloadable game
A decade or more gone since you fled the small backwater town that spawned you. Years since you thought of it, or so you tell yourself. It is only on those late nights, laying awake, feeling at your worst that you long for it.
When you receive the letter from Sidra, you feel it all at once. A desire to burn the letter then and there, unopened and unread. A pull to curl up inside of Sidra’s words and rest, to be hugged tight by every memory you have of the place until they crush you like a trash compactor. From what you have heard, it has become a husk; everyone who mattered has left.
But Sidra is still there.
i know the end is a short scenario about returning home and all the horrors that entails. It is perhaps best understood as an adventure, though it may be closer to a bestiary entry, a short story, or a diorama to walk through and observe. It is system agnostic, leans weird midwest in temperament, and is intended for one-shot play.
i know the end is inspired by the Phoebe Bridgers song of the same name after Joe DeSimone tweeted about how now we are all making modules inspired by songs that make us cry. Thanks Joe.
